FAQs

Aquia Glass & Mirror

  • What is tempered glass?

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass engineered to shatter into small, dull pieces instead of sharp, jagged shards when broken.
  • What is the difference between framed and frameless?

Frameless shower doors lack metal frames, providing a contemporary aesthetic, while framed or semi-frameless options offer enhanced water protection.
  • How long does a shower installation take?

An IG only takes 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on size.
  • When can I use my shower?

It is advisable to wait 24 hours after installation to allow the silicone sealant to fully cure before using the shower.
  • What thickness is the shower glass?

The glass thickness for shower doors is commonly 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, or 1/2 inch.
  • Do you offer protective coatings?

Yes, we provide protective coatings only for showers such as EnduroShield®, which reduces cleaning frequency and simplifies maintenance.
  • Does the quote include hardware?

Professional quotes should encompass all components, including glass, hardware (such as hinges and handles), and labor costs.
  • Can you fix a fogged window?

Fogged double-pane windows typically require full replacement rather than repair. 310Max and EnduroShield products are available depending on the shower style, and for a more cost-efficient option, 310Coating can be reapplied monthly. We will also sell without installation if the customer supplies the measurements.
  • What is Low-E glass?

Low-E (low-emissivity) glass is designed to minimize infrared and ultraviolet light transmission, improving energy efficiency by keeping interiors warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
